Balkan Sobranie 759 Tobacco Two Tins
759 ("Black Label") is one of the great English blends of all time, a wonderful blend of Turkish Oriental, Virginia, and smoky Syrian Latakia tobaccos. These tins date to the late 1970's or early 1980's when the Owner worked in Cambridge Mass, and was a regular customer of Leavitt and Peirce in Harvard Square, Cambridge. You can validate the era by Googling the JB Russell stamps on the bottom of the tins. This was an iconic blend, the ingredients of which have become unavaialble, so it is a time capsule of a great tobacco from a bygone era. The aroma is heavenly, the flavor rich and and smokey. The tins are sealed and the contents intact. I did not believe at that time that any more tins were available, but the Owner, now 89 years old, moved to an assisted living arrangement in March, and in clearing out his house I found these tins in the back of a closet with his old Dunhill and Comoy pipes.
Those of you who have dealt with me in the past know me to be fair and honest. These tins represent an era when pipe tobacco reflected the craft of blenders and great tobaccos. These tobaccos are no longer available. Your interest is appreciated and valued.
