Model "AIRMAN, " 6-1/8 blade made from Vanadium W-2 tool steel in August 1967 for Special Forces soldier Chuck M. Halladay, with Macassar ebony handle, double brass guard and brass butt cap with C. Initials engraved on it & Model " RIO GRANDE CAMP KNIFE, " 7-3/4 blade made with the exact same configurations.

The order process between Bill Moran and Chuck M. Halladay started in early 1964 when Halladay was serving in Vietnam. The knives were delivered in August 1967 as a special order, however, Halladay only carried them once on a mission during the conflict as he find the knives to be too"nice" and "pretty", therefore they had been in storage from 1967 to present time! Both knives bears the Lime Kiln, MD. They can be seen in the book: William F. America's Premier Baldesmith-Still On The Cutting Edge on page 61,107, 290 book weighs 10Lbs. NOTE: Picture # 10 and # 12 show exactly how each wooden handle matches in color, grain structure, appearance as both handles came from the same block of Macassar ebony. As one will denotes they are a perfect match. Picture # 11 did not came out great, but it does shows how the owner's initials were engraved by Moran in each butt cap!
