CD Lot (1084 titles = 1977 CDs) extraordinary collection of rarities & oop CDs  CD Lot (1084 titles = 1977 CDs) extraordinary collection of rarities & oop CDs

On offer here is an extraordinary CD collection 1084 separate titles or sets (totaling over 1977 CDs). Featuring a wealth of rarities and long out-of-print titles, including numerous sealed copies. A When I first listed this lot, it consisted of 670 titles totaling 1135 CDs. I have now added to it, and it now includes 1084 titles totaling 1977 CDs.

The page loads much, much faster and is easier to browse through. The link to view the CDs, as well as the complete list (in Excel format) can be found at. Simply go to the above site and download it. All titles come from my personal collection and have been extremely well cared for.

There is a heavy emphasis on pianists and conductors, followed by chamber music and violinists. There is very little opera or vocal titles. There are many sealed sets, including the 63CD Reiner box recently issued on RCA, as well as Vol.

3 in Sonys Bruno Walter Edition (10CDs) and the 40CD Westminster Legacy Collectors Edition. There are historical issues on labels such as Abiter, APR, Archiphon, Testament, Pearl, Biddulph, Dutton, EMI.

There are also quite a few Japan only issues on Denon, Green Door, EMI-Toshiba, and other labels. And there are many long-gone original issues on Decca, Philips, DG, EMI, CBS Masterworks, etc. These are the original issues. There are no club copies or cut-outs in this lot. All CDs were made in the European Union, the USA, or Japan.

There are absolutely no pirate copies, CD-Rs, or counterfeit CDs in the lot. Nearly all are in MINT condition. When a grading falls to EX or VG that refers to minor creasing, indentations, or aging to the slipcase or booklet; the CDs themsleves are free to scratches and play perfectly. It would take a tremendous amount of time, searching, expense, and sheer luck to compile all of these titles.

All have been photographed and are described and graded. To view all 1084 titles, please visit the page below. From there you can link to Google Photos and see the entire collection. Aside from being able to view all 670 titles in this lot, one can also download an Excel file with artist / title / label / catalog number / and condition grading information. The 5CD Arrau Beethoven set issued by EMI in 1991; the 5CD Georgescu Beethoven cycle on Lys.

More rare multi-CD sets e. The 4CD Clara Haskil Concerto set on Philips; the 2CD AS Disc set of Richter live in Boston; the 4CD Lionel Tertis set on Biddulph. Japanese pressing CDs, most featuring the original LP cover art e.

Enescu playing Bach on Philips; Vedernikov playing Mozart on Denon, the Denon Supraphon series, etc. Highlights from the Philips CDs in this lot most of the early Vivaldi 4 Seasons on Philips (Agostini, Carmirelli, Ayo; early Grumiaux titles, Mengelberg in Beethoven; Philips Legendary Classics, Mullova).

Highlights from the DG CDs in this lot (Michelangeli in Mozart, Sinopoli, Bernstein, LaSalle Quartet, Argerich). Highlights from the Decca CDs in this lot (1 of the Britten Aldeburgh titles, 3 of the early Decca Historic issues, Paik playing Chopin, 2 titles from the Mozart Almanac series). Highlights from the sealed titles in this lot (Kovacevich on Hyperion, Archiphon titles, and other sealed full-price issues from DG, Philips, Decca, and EMI). Amazing multi-sets in still-sealed, MINT condition (Michelangeli on Testament, Casadesus in Mozart Concerti on French Sony, Kocsis in Mikrokosmos on Philips, Lipatti on Archiphon, Maisky in Schuberts Arpeggione from Philips).

Highlights from the EMI CDs in this lot (3 of the French piano titles on EMI; 2 Milstein titles; Szigeti, Tipo, 2 Arist Profile sets; Argerich, Beecham, Michelangeli, et al). Highlights from the many historical CDs in this lot (Buhlig on Dante, Menuhin and Shumsky on Biddulph, the Calvet Quartet on Teldec, Edwin Fischer and Benjamin Britten on Pearl; Gilels on Le Chant du Monde; Richter on Orfeo dOr; Arrau on Music & Arts, et al). The original Klemperer Beethoven cycle on EMI; nearly all the Furtwangler titles on Russian Disc, half of them sealed; the Furtwangler Franck/Schumann on Decca, et al.

Fantastic still-sealed box sets e. The 63CD Reiner Collection on RCA, the 21CD Heifetz-Piatigorsky set on RCA; the 40CD Westminster Legacy Collectors Edition; the 12CD Boston Symphony Orchestra Historical box set; Kempffs mono Beethoven Piano Sonata cycle on DG; Vol.

3 (10CD box) of Sonys Bruno Walter Edition, et al. Some of the images are repeated in the 12 photos provided.

There is just one copy of each title, however. If the lot fails to sell over time, then I will consider that.

The only exception would be if someone bought a fairly significant price e. Please do not ask if I will sell 1 or 2 or 10 particular titles. A plastic center hole, or if it is IFPI or not. I will not go so far as to say this is a myth, but I do think it is a greatly exaggerated one.

I would say I have seen bronzing in less than 10 individual discs (Pearl, Nuova Era, and 1 Hyperion); I can only recall one CD that had a playing defect despite a perfect appearance. Except for the sealed copies, all CDs in this lot have been play-graded and play without any defect whatsoever. Again, all CDs were manufactured in the European Union, the USA, or Japan. The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.

When a grading falls to EX or VG that refers to minor creasing, indentations, or aging to the slipcase or booklet; the CDs themsleves are free from scratches and play perfectly. If you need more time than 5 days, then please contact me. I will promptly leave feedback for all buyers. This lot is simply too large (it will weigh in excess of 100 kg).

It is described in great detail, with photos of every single item. If you do have any questions, please feel free to write. Please see my other classical LP, CD, and memorabilia auctions, and feel free to write with any questions, I'll be glad to help.
