Lot of Used Vintage Bowie and other Knives Buck, Schrade, Hanson, Tramontina
Lot of Used Vintage Bowie and other Knives: Buck, Schrade, Hanson, Tramontina, Compass Hunter, Imperial, Fish Master - I have 7 vintage knives for sale that have been sitting in my collection for at least 35 - 40 years. I'm not an expert on knives, so I cannot tell you the exact application for each of these knives, but they are very old, and as far as I can tell, only two of them have genuine wooden handles, the Schrade and Hanson. These knives are not in the most excellent condition, as some may show signs of rust and scratches, and or where the blade was previously sharpened (The Compass Hunter and the Fish Master show heavier signs of rust and scratches) I will give a brief description of every knife. Schrade pocket knife: This knife is in good condition with very minimal micro scratches. It is a heavy knife with polished solid brass ends. It has the numbers 190638 stamped into the brass metal (see image) From tip of blade to bottom of handle butt measures 8-3/4 inches. Not recommended for a light hand. Comes included with a vintage leather case made by Buck. The case fits nicely to the knife. Hanson stainless steel made in Japan: I believe this is a skinning knife, as the blade is very sharp, and has a 5/8 bevel. From tip of blade to bottom of handle butt measures slightly over 10-3/4 inches. Comes included with original sheath. Tramontina carbon steel Brazil: It appears to have a plastic handle. The blade has a 5/8 bevel and is very sharp.
The cross guard is loosely fitted between the ricasso and the handle. There is a little play between both parts. From tip of blade to bottom of handle butt measures 13-3/16. Buck 121 USA : I'm not sure what the handle is made out of, but I believe this is a skinning knife, as it has a bevel of 9/16 with a nice edge.
From tip of blade to bottom of handle butt measures 9-5/8. Compass Hunter Brazil : The handle on this knife looks and feels like the same material as the Tramontina.
It appears to be plastic, but not definitely sure. The blade shows signs of rust, and may be pitted.
The cross guard has a little play between the handle and the ricasso. From tip of blade to bottom of handle butt measures 8-7/8.
Fish Master stainless USA : Again, I'm not sure what the handle material is made out of, but appears to be plastic. The blade has small serrations on the edge from probably being sharpened.
From tip of blade to bottom of handle butt measures 9-1/16. Imperial England : The smaller blade of the two shows signs of rust and pitting. This knife is garbage, as the blades do not close on their own once you get it so far closed, but can still be used, as the blades are stiff. With the longest blade extended, the knife measures almost 5-5/8.
