AKIRA Original Cell Artwork 2 Pieces! Ultimate 1988 Anime Blockbuster Art, 1988

  
Spectacular original artwork from the immensely important 1988 anime film, AKIRA! The first print of Tetsuo Shima, is, I believe the very first time an anime character went "Super Saiyan" (supa saiya-jin)! This frame can be seen in the full, unedited Japanese version of the movie, at the1:32:18 mark. This is an incredibly historic, and important moment in anime; exceedingly RARE. The second print is a great one too!

Featuring a closeup of a member of the very popular punk motorcycle gang, you can see detail of his crazy shoulder tatoo! It can be seen earlier in the film, at the 0:06:11 mark. Both drawings are included, and would look awesome framed.

It doesn't get any better than this! Although most people are familiar with sericels or "cells"; if you think about it, they aren't really the art! The real art, are the underlying drawings - which are not usually made available to the public.

With no offense intended to those who did that vital work; "cells" are usually painted by assistants, and is, essentially, a color-by-number or fill-in-the-space process (NOT the same thing as the animator creating the drawings, which is what we have here)... Feel free to Make An Offer, but realize that while we are dickering, someone else can come in and steal it for full price...
