This is a set of three Civil War era Naval boarding weapons with great patina and an unusual combination. They are all preserved well but do have patina. There is a small naval boarding pike head of size facilitating use in close boarding combat quarters, a boarding axe with some of the original wood haft still inside of the socket, and a large grappling iron or hook. One side is larger than the other two prongs.
This is an excellent set for collectors of Civil War and Naval weapons. Size: Pike 7 3/4 inches.
Axe: 12 1/2 inches long, blade5 inches long, and grappling iron is 8 inches long. Provenance: Ex: Ira Bacon, private collection, Pinewood, South Carolina; Ex: Dr. Walter Young, private collection, Colorado Springs, CO.
